World Cup: Full List of 7 teams through to round of 32, 5 eliminated

The race for places in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is gathering pace, with seven teams already qualified and five others knocked out of the tournament.

The expanded World Cup, featuring 48 teams for the first time, has produced early drama across the 12 groups as nations battle to stay alive in the competition.

Under the new format, the 12 group winners and 12 runners-up will qualify automatically for the Round of 32.

They will be joined by the eight best third-placed teams, while 16 countries will be eliminated after the group stage.

Seven Teams Secure Knockout Places

Several countries have already booked their places in the next round after strong starts to the tournament.

Mexico became the first team from Group A to qualify for the knockout stage.

Co-hosts United States also secured qualification from Group D after winning their first two matches.

Germany advanced from Group E after maintaining a perfect start to their campaign.

Group I has already produced two qualified teams, with France and Norway both sealing their places in the Round of 32.

Defending champions Argentina have also progressed from Group J.

Colombia became the latest team to qualify after confirming their place from Group K.

Five Teams Crash Out

While some countries are already celebrating qualification, others have seen their World Cup campaigns come to an early end.

Haiti became the first team eliminated from Group C.

Turkey have also been knocked out from Group D, while Tunisia are out from Group F.

Jordan failed to keep their hopes alive in Group J and have been eliminated.

Panama also crashed out from Group L after losing 1-0 to Croatia.
