Gordon Ramsay confesses secret fear as daughter prepares to make him a grandfather

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has admitted he is secretly afraid of becoming a grandfather for the first time.

The 56-year-old TV chef made the confession after his daughter, Holly Ramsay, announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.

Holly confirmed last week that she and Peaty are expecting a baby girl in December 2026.

Ramsay opened up about the news during an appearance on The Rest Is Football on Netflix, while speaking with Gary Lineker.

The chef said he was “secretly petrified” about becoming a grandfather, joking that men could only do so much before a baby begins to talk and communicate.

Despite his nerves, Ramsay has publicly shown excitement over the pregnancy.

After Holly shared the news on Instagram, Ramsay congratulated the couple and said he was looking forward to becoming an overexcited grandfather, especially during Christmas.

Holly announced the pregnancy with a picture showing her baby bump.

She captioned the post: “Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026. We can’t wait to meet our baby girl.”

Her sister, Tilly Ramsay, also reacted to the announcement, describing it as the “best news ever.”

Ramsay and his wife, Tana, have six children together: Megan, twins Jack and Holly, Tilly, Oscar and Jesse James.

Holly and Peaty married on December 27, 2025, in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey before holding a reception at Kin House.

Their marriage came amid an ongoing family dispute involving Peaty and his estranged parents.

Reports previously claimed that Peaty’s mother, Caroline, and father, Mark, were not invited to the wedding because of a bitter fallout.

Peaty’s sister, Bethany, was said to be the only member of his family who attended the wedding.

The swimmer has since been warmly welcomed by the Ramsay family and reportedly refers to Gordon and Tana as “dad” and “mum.”

Ramsay has previously spoken about the family rift, saying the situation was painful for his family.

He said they had treated Peaty’s relatives well, including sending a chauffeur-driven car for them to attend an engagement party.

The chef also defended his wedding speech after reports claimed Peaty’s mother was upset by comments made during the reception.

Ramsay later insisted that his speech was “perfect and warm,” adding that giving a daughter away in marriage was an emotional moment for any father.

With Holly now expecting her first child, Ramsay is preparing for a new role in the family.

Although he admits he is nervous, the chef has made it clear he is excited to welcome his first grandchild.
