Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has said members of his private security outfit, Iru Ekun, who were injured during an ambush in the Old Oyo National Park, have recovered.

Igboho disclosed this in a video message released after rumours spread over his safety and the condition of the injured operatives.

He assured his supporters that he was alive, safe and in good health.

“I greet you, my fathers and mothers. It’s your son, Sunday Igboho. My brothers and sisters all over the world, today is the 28th of June, 2026.

“Rumours have been circulating, but I want to use this opportunity to assure all my loved ones across the world that I am safe.

“Those who sustained injuries have now recovered. We will not relent until those disturbing the peace of our land are driven out,” he said.

His comments came days after some members of the Iru Ekun security outfit were reportedly ambushed during an operation inside the Old Oyo National Park in Oyo State.

The operatives were said to have entered the forest to track suspected kidnappers and other armed criminals believed to be hiding in the reserve.

According to reports, the team had earlier deployed surveillance drones to identify suspected hideouts and monitor movements within the forest before advancing into the area.

The operation, however, reportedly turned violent after armed men opened fire on the operatives.

Several members of the Iru Ekun team sustained injuries during the attack and were later taken for medical treatment.

Despite the incident, Igboho said the group would not be discouraged by the attack.

He vowed that efforts to flush criminal elements out of the region would continue.
