Global music star Justin Bieber has been confirmed as one of the main performers at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show.
FIFA and Global Citizen announced that Bieber will perform alongside Madonna, Shakira and BTS during the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show. The event will take place on July 19, 2026, at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
The halftime show will combine football, music and a message of social impact. Other performers include Nigerian music star Burna Boy, renowned Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS 22 Chorus featuring Coldplay.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the event will help support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to improve access to education and football opportunities for children around the world.
According to FIFA, more than $50 million has already been raised for the fund. The organisation is targeting $100 million, with $1 from every ticket sold for FIFA World Cup 2026 matches being donated to the initiative.
Infantino said the show will send a strong message of unity and hope to billions of viewers worldwide.
He added that the event, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will celebrate football, music and shared values while leaving a lasting impact beyond the tournament.
Justin Bieber expressed his excitement about being part of the event, saying he is grateful to perform in a show that is helping children gain access to education around the world.
Burna Boy also described his participation as an honour, saying he is proud to represent Africa on such a global stage while supporting efforts to create better opportunities for children through education.
The show will also feature characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets. Their appearance is aimed at highlighting the importance of quality education for children worldwide.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show is being produced by Global Citizen in partnership with Live Nation and Done + Dusted. In a promotional video, Chris Martin described the event as a celebration of togetherness and said everyone is welcome to be part of it.
Earlier this year, FIFA and Global Citizen announced the first group of organisations that will receive grants from the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
These organisations support education and football programmes for children in underserved communities across ten countries.
Through its Unite for Education campaign, FIFA is also using the World Cup to raise awareness about education projects.
Players wore special Unite for Education sleeve patches during the Round of 16, Quarter-finals and Semi-finals to promote the campaign and encourage support for educational initiatives around the world.
