ACF Begs Boko Haram To End Attacks
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) on Monday appealed to members of the Boko Haram sect to stop its killing of innocent people in the country.
Mr. Anthony Sani, the National Publicity Secretary of the organisation made the call in a statement he issued in Kaduna.
The forum also called on the group to embrace dialogue and end the spate of bombings which had led to the destruction of property, including national security assets in the country.
Sani said the ACF was not happy with the increasing spate of violent attacks in some parts of the country, most especially in the northern region.
“ACF frowns at the spate of bomb explosions by Boko Haram that are directed at innocent Nigerians, including worshippers, as symbolised by the recent attacks in a mosque and COCIN Church.
“The forum is also sad over any reprisal attack, especially on innocent people who have nothing to do with the perceived grievances by the contending parties.
“And given the sacred inviolability of individuals as espoused by tenets of all religions, ACF condemns all forms of violence and killing of innocent people under any guise,” the statement read in part.
It stated that the perpetrators of the mayhem should desist forthwith and embrace dialogue as the only viable option that can address any grievance for the common good of all.
The forum commiserated with victims of the carnage and prayed to God to give the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss.
