Cycling: Perkins Targets Treble In Melbourne

Australia’s defending keirin world champion Shane Perkins said he is confident that he could tackle three events at UCI Track Cycling World Championships scheduled to hold on 4 April at Melbourne.

Perkins admitted his individual events suffered last year after adding the team sprint to his keirin and sprint commitments.

But he said with a different training regime, he is ready to tackle the treble in Melbourne.

“It’s taken a little bit away in the last year from my sprint and keirin performances,” he said.

“But things are starting to step up pretty well now. I’m confident I can put the performances in all three events.”
