After a celebrated spat between revered rap star Mode 9 and ex-beauty queen turned rapper Munachi Abii, better known as Muna, the two are planning a music collaboration to seal their friendship in the industry.

Dropping the hint, Ayo Shonaiya, lawyer and Muna’s manager said there are plans on the two rappers collaborating. “I would say yes as I want that to happen. I’ve spoken to both of them and they are game. You know in this industry; it doesn’t happen until it happens. And when it does, we’ll take pictures and tweet picture,” Shonaiya told Hip-Hop World magazine.

Few weeks ago, the two were locked in a war of words during the Nokia Don’t Break the Beat Rap Competition which took place at the GET Arena, Lekki, Lagos.  Muna, who was the host of the show, was involved in a brief exchange with Mode 9 who was a head judge after the rapper decided along with the other judges (DJ Jimmy Jatt  and Rogba Arimoro, Knighthouse Record boss) that one of the contestants, T.K.O had won the final rap bout, with the first runner up being Black Jeez.

But Muna disagreed with the judges’ decision. “I don’t agree with you but my opinion matters too, you know,” Muna told Mode9, who clearly annoyed by Muna’s open display of bias as a host.

The hip-hop veteran gave it back to Muna right in front of the crowd: “I’ve been listening to hip-hop for a long time, trust me, you have to respect my opinion,” he said.

But Muna retorted: “I’ve also been listening to hip-hop for a long time, I respect your decision but my opinion matters, please pass the mic men,” Muna rudely replied right in front of the mammoth crowd.

And for weeks, many industry players scolded Muna for the slip.

However, a couple of weeks back, both Mode 9 and Muna buried the hatchet as they both performed on stage at one of the weekly “Industry Nite” at Lagos Oriental Hotel. And with the plans for a duet, the whole saga seems to have been laid to rest.
