Femi Kuti Condemns Mubi Killings

Afrobeat King Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, has joined other Nigerians in condemning the killing of four University of Port Harcourt undergraduates—Lloyd, Ugo, Tekena and Chidiaka in Aluu community, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Southsouth Nigeria.

Speaking on telephone Femi, who is currently on tour of France, said, “After watching the video of how the four promising students were killed on an allegation of stealing mobile phones and laptops, I felt so bad and wondered why a community would descend to that level. Don’t we have laws in this country any longer? The killing is barbaric and a national tragedy.”

While calling on the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration to probe the killing and bring those responsible for such dastardly act to book, Femi also bemoaned the gruesome murder of 40 other students in Mubi, Adamawa State.

He also expressed his condolences to the families of the young men and women who were killed.
