Why Chikwendu Quit ANCOP

Film producer and director, Madu Chikwendu, resigned his membership of the Association of Nollywood Core Producers, ANCOP on Tuesday.

While many are wondering why the prolific film director decided to call it quit just when he was expected to represent the association at an international film workshop in Paris, France, sources squealed to Whispers that he was actually forced to resign, even though Chikwendu claimed the action was taken in good faith.

He also said that the decision was taken in the interest of ANCOP and the movie industry as a whole.

But sources insisted that it was inevitable for association’s Board of Trustees member to resign after a row ensued between him and other top members. The row was as a result of a largesse given to the association by a government official.
