Nigerian Detectives at the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos are  trying to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of a security guard, Solomon Effiong, 35, at Coker Estate in Shasha, Alimosho area of Lagos State.

P.M.NEWS gathered that about 10 unidentified gunmen on Saturday stormed the estate and shot him dead.

Investigations revealed further that seven other security guards in the estate sustained gunshot wounds and are receiving treatment at undisclosed hospitals.

The deceased, a native of Eket in Akwa Ibom State, was shot twice in the chest and the jaw. He reportedly died on the way to Isolo General Hospital where his corpse was deposited.

The incident was reported at the Shasha Police Station and Idimu Area ‘M’ Police Headquarters.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the deceased and other security guards were working in Coker Estate but the land on which the estate was built had been a subject of litigation before a Lagos High Court.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the younger brother to the deceased, Samuel Effiong, said his late brother was the breadwinner of the family, adding that he left behind a wife and two children, aged five and four.
