Dee Dee Records Debuts

Moses EfretA new record label, Dee Dee Records, is set to make a mark on the Nigerian music scene as it unveiled its Nigerian artistes last week in Lagos.

Damien Iwumene, CEO, Dee Dee Records, said the new label is poised to take Nigerian entertainment to the next level. “We have been making noise in the US and we are known for what we do. Now we want to take the gospel back home and empower our youths. We have three American artistes and two Nigerian artistes so Dee Dee Records is one big cross-Atlantic family of talented artistes,” Iwumene said.

The label boss added that the two new Nigerian acts to join the label are Saint Leo (the masked one) and Indo, while its American-based artistes include Ptyte, Moses Efret and Masq Satrazy.

He also disclosed that the label is currently concentrating on releasing the debut gospel album of Effret, who also doubles as actor. The album is slated for June. His single, Na My Time, is available on YouTube.

“Once we are through with Effret, we will push out St. Leo and Indo’s albums. They are currently in the studio recording,” he added.

Founded in 2010, Dee Dee  Records is an independent record label based in the US. The company plans to venture into movies in the nearest future to promote Nollywood home and abroad.
