Nigeria beats Bosnia-Herzegovina at World Tennis Tourney

Segun Toriola-inspired Team Nigeria on Wednesday to thrash Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-1 at the ongoing 2014 World Table Tennis Championship in Tokyo.

Captain of TeamNigeria, Toriola began the onslaught, while Aruna Quadri increased the tally to 2-0 but Ojo Onaolapo fell in the third game to put the game at 2-1.

Like a true leader, Toriola rounded up the match with a win to give Nigeria a 3-1 win over the European side.

The female team did not enjoy such success. Their respite was thwarted when they were beaten 3-0 by Portugal in their fourth game.

Of the four matches played so far by the Funke Oshonaike-captained side, the team have lost three, their only win was against Italy on Tuesday.

The team’s last group game will be against Turkey on today.

But the male team have produced some breathtaking performances to win three of their four matches, their only defeat came against the Czech Republic.

The male team will on Thursday battle Canada in their bid to gain promotion to the elite division.
