Oboabona back to training ahead of Argentina clash

Super Eagles defender, Godfrey Oboabona, returned to training on Monday after he limped off the team’s first Group match against Iran at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.
Oboabona missed the Super Eagles second Group match against Bosnia-Herzegovina due to the injury but his expected to be in the squad against one of the tournament’s favourite Argentina.
A statement issued from the Super Eagles camp by Ben Alaiya, the team’s Media Officer, said team medics had given him a clean bill of health.
The statement said the team started training for Wednesday’s group decider against former world champions, Argentina, immediately it settled down in Porto Alegre.
The team left Campinas to Porto Alegre in company of NFA Vice Chairman, Mike Umeh and House of Reps members led by the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Sports, Alhaja Ayo Omidiran.
Captain of the team, Joseph Yobo is optimistic that Nigeria can defeat Argentina. Yobo says he preferred a win over his much advertised of 100 caps for the national team.
“It is good news that I will reach that milestone, but what is uppermost in my mind is for the team to win and for us to advance to the next stage.
“The rest will be a bonus,” Yobo said.
