Kenyan election lessons for INEC

Electoral Institute and Africa Vision 252 Initiative, an NGO, is to organise a lecture on lessons Nigeria ought to learn from the Kenyan election.

This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Executive Director of the Institute Okello Oculi.

The lecture titled: ‘Constitutional Referendum and 2013 Election in Kenya: Lessons for Nigeria,” will be deliver on 30 September by Prof. Michael Chege.

Chege, is the Director of Centre for African Studies, University of Florida, USA.

According to the statement, the lecture was the fourth in Trans-African Lecture Series to be delivered since June.

Oculi said that the lecture series was aimed at promoting trans-African dialogue on governance in Africa.

He said that the four lecture series, scheduled to run between June and September. had so far featured experts from Senegal, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya.

According to him, the lectures would centre on analysing records of recent elections in Senegal, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya.
