Coutinho’s goal knocks Man Utd out as Liverpool progress

A sensational Philippe Coutinho goal helped Liverpool knock Manchester United out of the Europa League and progress to the quarter-finals.

United, needing to overcome a 2-0 first-leg deficit, went ahead when Anthony Martial converted a penalty after being fouled by Nathaniel Clyne.

But, before the break, Coutinho waved into United’s box and beat David de Gea at the near post with a chipped finish.

It left United needing three goals to win and they did not come close.
