The 1st Onibiyo Adelabu Cycling Competition holds this weekend.
The competition, which is an all-comers affair, will flag off from the secretariat of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, at 7:30 a.m. through Abule Egba, Iyana Ipaja and terminate at Church Bus Stop, Ipaja.
After the race, a reception and award ceremony will take place at St. Andrews Primary School, Ipaja. The competition is organised by Hon. Onibiyo Adelabu with technical support from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development and Lagos State Amateur Cycling Association.
According to the organisers, all participants will be kitted with branded T-shirts and caps, while the top three finalists will get the sum of N50,000, N30,000 and N20,000 respectively in the male category.
In the female category, the best three finalists will get N30,000, N20,000 and N10,000Â respectively. Prizes will also be given to 27 other cyclists.
Dignitaries expected at the event are the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, and Commissioner for Sports Ademola Adeniji-Adele. Senator Ganiyu Solomon will be the guest of honour, while Eng. Rauf Aregbesola is the father of the day.
