Aspirant Donates 100 Campaign Offices To ANPP
A senatorial aspirant in Bauchi State, Rep. Haruna Ibrahim, has donated 100 campaign offices to the Bauchi State Chapter of ANPP as part of efforts to boost its electoral fortunes ahead of the April general elections.
Haruna, who is the current member representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Bauchi that the gesture was part of a campaign strategy to revamp the party in the state.
He said that the campaign offices were established in the local government headquarters across the state.
All the campaign offices were furnished and provided with medium-size electricity generating plants to ensure uninterrupted power supply and smooth operations of campaign activities.
“The objective is to make ANPP visible in every nook and cranny of the state so that the people would know that the party is still alive in spite of the defection of the incumbent governor, who won election under its platform in 2007,†Haruna said.
He added that he had constructed more than 150 tube wells in various rural communities in Toro Local Government Area alone as part of measures to ensure the provision of clean and safe drinking water for the people at the grassroots.
“This is in addition to the reactivation of the Tilden Funani Water Works in Toro Local Government Area,†the senatorial aspirant said.
To bridge the educational disparity in the area, Haruna said that he had also rehabilitated more than 20 dilapidated public primary schools in Gumau, Reshi, Nabardo and Tilden Fulani communities.
“I have also provided scholarship to more than 450 indigent students in addition to the provision of laptops to some selected students in tertiary institution from my constituency as well as the provision of drugs and other hospital consumables in Toro Local Government Area ,†he said.
