Emir of Kontagora Saidu Namaska is dead

Emir of Kontagora in Niger state, Sarkin Sudan Alhaji Saidu Umaru Namaska, has died.

The monarch reportedly died at an Abuja hospital, according to Daily Trust.

In May, Alhaji Bashar Saidu Namaska, the emir’s son, was killed by bandits during an attack at the monarch’s farm on Zuru Road in Kontagora LGA.

During the attack, other farmworkers were also shot dead and the bandits rustled some cows.

The emir who died at the age of 84, had spent 47 years on the throne.
