3 men remanded for kidnapping 72-year-old Fasilat Badmis

An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday ordered the remand of three men for allegedly conspiring to kidnap 72-year-old woman, Fasilat Badmis.
The police charged Bolaji Apena, Believe Deo and Godday Enock with three counts bordering on conspiracy and kidnapping.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.M. Ajayi, who did not take their plea, ordered that they should be remand at the Ikoyi Correctional facility pending legal advice from the office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP).
She adjourned until May 9 for DPP advice.
Earlier the Prosecution Counsel, ASP A. A. Paul, told the court that the suspects committed the offence on March 18, at 1 p.m., at No. 27, Tunde Taiwo St., Epe.
He told the court that the suspects conspired to kidnap 72-year-old Fasilat Badmis from her residence with intent to collect ransom.
“They planned to kidnap the septuagenarian after her Zuhir prayers in the mosque,” he said.
The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 4 and 6 of the Kidnapping Prohibition Laws of Lagos State on Nigeria, 2017, it also contravene Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
