Operatives of OP-MESA chasing a ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’ Boy in Ogun State, have shot a senior secondary school 2 student dead.
The female student, simply identified as Sadiat was a student of Unity High School, Ago Ika, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
It was gathered that the 17-year-old student was coming out of the school after closing along with others when the OP-MESA chasing an internet fraudsters, suddenly opened fire.
A stray bullet was said to have hit the girl, killing her in the process. Some students were also said to be injured during the process.
It was also learnt that the slain girl was the only child of her parents. She died before getting to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba where she was rushed to.
The incident led to a rampage in the area as students of the school attacked the Enu-Guda Police Post with stones and broken bottles to protest the death of their colleague.
Security operatives were mobilised which dispersed the students with tear gas, while some passers-by were arrested indiscriminately by the police.
Spokesperson, Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident, but said he had no details about the killing of a student.
