I am not a member of Illuminati: Rema clears air

Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, widely recognized as Rema, has publicly refuted ongoing rumors linking him to the secretive organization, the Illuminati.

The artiste used his official Instagram stories platform to set the record straight, asserting that he has no affiliation with the group. Rema urged his fan base, affectionately known as the Ravers, to take the initiative in educating his newer fans about his roots and cultural heritage.

In his statement, the ‘Calm Down’ singer dismissed the Illuminati as “trash” and professed his belief in “Jesus as the king.” Rema stressed that his relentless dedication to his music is focused on promoting positive themes and not on glorifying supernatural or sinister elements.

Rema called upon his longtime fans to delve into his background and cultural origins and to recognize his commitment to evolving artistically.

He said: “Day 1 Ravers, help me educate the new Ravers that I have been on this bat shit for a long time. You all would have so much clarity if you easily Google where I’m from, what the key colours of my heritage are, what flies in the skies of Benin every evening, etc.

“As I evolve, my execution will evolve unapologetically. Please know your artist. It is why I do interviews. And that Illuminati talk is trash. I work too hard to create art for you guys to give the glory to some diabolical shit. Dead it now. Jesus is King.”
