Nottingham Forest delivered a stunning performance at Anfield, securing a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in a fiercely contested Premier League clash on Saturday.
The win was sealed by a crucial goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi, and it showcased Nottingham Forest’s resilience and tactical discipline.
The match began with Liverpool dominating possession and creating several opportunities.
In the 17th minute, Luis Diaz came close to breaking the deadlock with a sharp shot from inside the box, but his effort only brushed the left post.
Moments later, Diogo Jota had a prime chance to score, volleying from close range, only for Nottingham Forest’s goalkeeper, Matz Sels, to make a spectacular save.
Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister also tested Sels with a powerful header from a cross, but the goalkeeper’s reactions kept the score at 0-0.
As the game progressed, Nottingham Forest gradually found their rhythm and began to create their own chances. In the 68th minute, Morgan Gibbs-White executed a brilliant pass to Anthony Elanga, whose shot narrowly missed the crossbar.
The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute. Nottingham Forest launched a lightning-fast counterattack, with Elanga once again playing a pivotal role.

He delivered a precise pass to Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was perfectly positioned to slot the ball past Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Alisson. The goal gave Nottingham Forest a 1-0 lead and left Anfield stunned.
Liverpool pushed hard for an equalizer, but their efforts were thwarted by Nottingham Forest’s disciplined defence.
A potential penalty for Nottingham was controversially waved away by the referee in the 80th minute after Hudson-Odoi was challenged in the box.
Liverpool’s chances continued to diminish as Anthony Elanga’s one-on-one opportunity was brilliantly saved by Alisson, who made an impressive leap to deny him.
The home side’s last significant chance came in the 88th minute when Virgil van Dijk’s powerful header from a corner kick sailed just over the bar.
Despite their persistent pressure and multiple chances, Liverpool could not find the back of the net.
