Cowrie Rugby Football Club has maintained a 100 per cent record in the first phase of the 10-week old “Friends of Rugby†2010 League.
Last weekend, they mauled Young Lions Rugby Football Club by 77-0 points in the 5th week of the Lagos Rugby Union League match at the National Institute of Sports playground, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
Coordinator of the league, Ntiense Williams disclosed that Cowrie Rugby Football Club won all their matches. They defeated all comers in the first phase of the 2010 season, which goes on break after last weekend’s matches.
Other matches played over the weekend saw Lagos Rugby Football Club defeating Eco II Rugby Football Club by 22-7 points in the first match of the day.
Addax Rugby Football Club managed a one point narrow win of 13-12 points over the Police Machine Rugby Team in the second game.
With the results from the 5th week matches, Cowrie Rugby Football Club gained six points. They now have 29 points, leading the table.
Lagos Rugby Football Club added 5 points to their tally to make it a total of 20 points to remain in second position, Addax Rugby Football Club got 4 points from their narrow win against the Police Rugby Team to give them a total of 16 points and the 3rd position on the table.
Eco II Rugby Football Club, who suffered a 22-7points defeat against Lagos RFC are 4th position with 11 points, while Young Lions Rugby Football Club are in the 5th position with 5 points and the Police Machine Rugby Team, who gained a bonus points from their narrow one-point loss to Addax Rugby FC secured a total of 3 points to remain in the 6th position.
