As the maiden Lagos Junior League gets underway this weekend across some local government areas in the state, Chairman of the state’s Referee Council, Tade Azeez, has counselled all the referees that will officiate in the tourney to be fair and just.
During a two-day referee seminar for its members at the Lagos SWAN Secretariat, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria, Tade said all eyes will be on the referees during the tourney, hence they need to be very careful. He warned that there will be no room for bad officiating, warning that the council will be out to maintain its dignity during the tourney.
Tade said the seminar was organised to acquaint the referees with the latest rules of the game, adding that any referee found wanting will be dealt with appropriately.
The seminar, which ended today, has about 150 referees in attendance.
Some of the guest speakers at the seminar are Dr. Alex Mana, Chukwudi Chukwujekwu and international referees.
