P.M. Sports can reveal that Chairman of Delta State Football Association, DSFA, Amaju Pinnick is critically ill.

It was gathered that Pinnick sustained serious injury after the fireworks he lighted to celebrate Valentine exploded on his face at his residence in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. Sources close to his family disclosed that the incident happened while celebrating the Valentine with his Family and friends in his house.

It was learnt that Pinnick had part of his face damaged and had been in coma at an intensive care section of a hospital in Warri since the incident happened.

The condition of the Delta FA boss, who doubles as the Executive Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, is so critical that he cannot talk at the moment. It was further gathered that only Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State and his wife are allowed to see him, while others are barred by the hospital management. Pinnick, P.M.Sports learnt would be flown abroad tomorrow on the order of Governor Uduaghan.

“The domestic accident affected his cheek bones and may need facial surgery. The family is disturbed over the situation,” a staff at the Delta Sports Commission told our man in Warri early today.
