Special Apostle Israel Akinadewo of Motailatu Church, Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, Sanctuary Parish, Lagos, has said that the problems confronting Nigeria today are self inflicted.

The cleric, who made the remarks while speaking on activities marking the 10th year anniversary of the chuch recently, noted that people are happy wining and dining in corruption.

According to him, “in the real sense of it, God has blessed this country in all areas but the problems we have found ourselves are self inflicted,” adding that all the days of the activities will be used to pray for Nigeria and our political leaders.

Continuing, he said “people are happy ahnd dining in corruption. Many political office holders take political offices as a do or die and where to enrich themselves rather than serve. The people of Israel have remained blessed till today because they have kept the commandments of God from generation to generation, starting from the time of Abraham.”

He queried the rationale behind the neglect of other money spinning ventures like agriculature just because of petroleum, stating that this is one of the problems confronting the nation.

“We need to empower and encourage all tribes of the nation to focus more on the resources they are known for and all these tribal and religious wars will reduce to the barest minimum.

“We need to go back to God, cleanse ourselves and remove the holier than thou attitude, while political office holders should be more accountable and leaders of religions should be more prayerful and purify themselves.
