Players of D’Tigress have promised to put up a better showing at the Women Basketball Nations Cup, Afrobasket 2011, in Bamako, Mali for them to prove that their third place finish in All Africa Games in Mozambique was not a measure of their strength.

Speaking before their departure for the tourney, a member of the team, Rashidat Sadiq told P.M.Sports that they are poised to prove a point at the biennial championship, adding that they will strife to win the trophy for the country.

“We are going to Mali to show that winning bronze medal at the just concluded All Africa Games in Mozambique was not the best we could offer for the country,” said the Turkey based star.

Sadiq further said that they are aware of the stiff opposition they will be faced at the championship. She believes that the modest preparation they had before the tourney has given them the confidence to finish top in their group and go ahead for the trophy.
