Ojodu Coach Relishes Challenge Cup Title

Chief Coach of Ojodu FC, Lawrence James, has showered encomium on his team after they defeated Seriki Aro United 2-0 in the final of Ikeja Challenge Cup.

Samuel Okpara scored the two goals that sealed victory for Ojodu FC in an encounter watched by a hundred of crowd at the Adeniyi Jones Primary School, Ikeja, Lagos.

James, who was excited with the outcome of the match, told P.M.Sports he was happy because his team played to instruction.

He admitted that the final was a tough one but thanked God that his team came out victorious. James commended his team for their doggedness and determination exhibited throughout their matches at the championship.

“It was a good outing for us because my players were hungry for success from the beginning of the competition. Our confidence began to grow after we won our first match and I am happy that we achieved our target at the end of the day,” he said.

In his own remark, Seriki Aro United coach, Terry White, admitted that their opponents deserved the victory.

“We did everything to level up in the second half but our effort was abortive. Our opponents defended and played well and I want to congratulate them for the victory achieved. We will go back home and prepare for the next edition,” he said.

Match Cordinator, Tayo Aderinola, said both teams played well but noted that the better side won the game.
