Beach Soccer: Ajegbenwa Win N100k At Kemi Surakat Tourney

Ajegbenwa FC were winners of the N100,000 star prize of the maiden Kemi Surakat Beach Soccer Championship at the final held yesterday at the Eleko Beach, Victoria Island.

Ajegbenwa FC defeated Lion Heart, Mopo Ijebu 7-3 in the final watched by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Kemi Surakat, in whose honour the tournament was held.

Lion Heart pocketed the sum of N50,000, while Lakowe FC who beat Igando Oloja FC 9-5 in the third place match went home with N30,000.

Surakat called on the government of Babatunde Raji Fashola to support the people of Ibeju Lekki by constructing a stadium on a parcel of land at Idiorogbo.

He said the stadium would be useful for the youth of the LG.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion included the former chairman of the LG, Prince Bayo Balogun, the ‘Special One’, Oba Rafiu Slami Olusegun, the Onibeju of Ibeju, Oba Tajudeen Elemono, the Onite of Itedo, the Council Manager, Mr. Ojukutu and Council Secretary Mr. Samusideen Elemono.
