Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola will meet with the leadership of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA this evening to find ways of resolving the dispute involving the sack of 788 doctors by the state government.

Also, the battle between the sacked doctors and the state government will continue tomorrow at the Industrial Court, Ikoyi where the doctors have sued the government over undue sack and harassment.

P.M.NEWS gathered on Monday that Fashola would be meeting with the doctors around 4.00 pm today to resolve the crisis on ground as the sack of the doctors had led to near paralysis in public hospitals in Lagos State. Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Hakeem Bello confirmed that a meeting had been scheduled between the governor and the doctors today but refused to give details and referred our reporter to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Aderemi Ibirogba.

It is expected that today’s meeting might lead to the recalling of the sacked doctors back to work as the NMA is threatening to embark on nationwide strike in solidarity with the doctors sacked over eight days ago.
