Nutricima Community Games Kick Off In Lagos

Hostilities resumed early this week with football matches and table tennis at the on-going Communities Games sponsored by Nutricima Limited on the platform of its foremost dairy product, Olympic milk.

In the first football match played at the CMS Sports Ground, Bariga, Oshodi and Agege playing in group B settled for a one all draw.

The boys from Agege shot into the lead with a first half effort, but Oshodi rallied back to share the point with an equalizer in the dying seconds of the second half.  Oshodi, however, defeated Agege 3-0 in the table tennis match also played yesterday

In the other match of the day, Ajegunle ran away with a 3-2 victory over their counterparts from Mushin. Indeed, it was the boys from AJ City who proved the hungrier as they drew the first blood five minutes into the first half. They doubled their advantage early in the second half before Mushin pulled one back to bring themselves back into the game.

Ajegunle struck for the third time to take the game beyond the reach Mushin.  The game finally ended 3-2 after Mushin had converted from the spot on the stroke of full time.

In the first round of matches played yesterday at TTC, Agege,  Ketu defeated Bariga one nil with Bayo Ajayi nodding home from a set piece. In the second match also played yesterday, Surulere scored two unreplied goals against Obalende.

Action continues today at the Eko Boys High School, Mushin where Ikorodu will face Bariga and Surulere will trade tackles with Ketu in the second round of group A matches.

The Nutricima Community Games will end on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Agege Township Stadium.
