Players Groan Over Harsh Weather At Dala Hard Court

The players competing at the ongoing Dala Hard Court tourney are finding it tough with the harsh weather in Kano.

One of the players, Kayode Savage, who spoke with P.M.NEWS, said although, they were trying to get used to the weather, it’s been hard for the players to cope with the intensity of the heat there.

According to him, “The weather here is quite hot. The intensity of the sun is unbearable; but we are trying to adjust to it gradually.”

Meanwhile, the main draw of the annual tourney kicked off yesterday. Players all over the country are competing in the men’s singles, ladies singles and men’s doubles events.

The ladies singles winner will go home with N500,000, while the winner of the men’s category will go home with N1 million.

The second place winner of the men’s single will pick up N500,000, while the runner up in the ladies event will get N250,000.

It would be recalled that Sunday Emmanuel defeated Abdulmumuni Babalola, 6-4, 6-4 to win the men’s singles of last year’s edition in Kano.
