Lazio Lure Synagogue's Onazi With N62m

There are strong indications that Eddy Ogenyi Onazi, the former Golden Eaglets player may not leave his present Serie A club, Lazio of Italy soon.  Lazio, it was gathered, plan to pay the player 300,000 euros, about N62 million a year in a new deal.

Reports monitored in Italy revealed that Onazi, who has been attracting interest from English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur  will extend his stay in the Italian top flight for another two seasons.

Spurs are planning to bring the player to the EPL during the January transfer window. And, to fend off the interest of clubs that are interested in him, Lazio have proposed a fresh two – year contract to him.

According to lalaziosiamonoi.it, Onazi is expected to pocket 300,000 euros as annual wage in the new deal, which will keep him at the capital club until the summer of 2016.

He currently earns a paltry sum of 20,000 euros, about N5.1 million a year as a youth team player.

The former Nigeria youth  player, who is expected to be named in Stephen Keshi’s preliminary African Cup of Nations squad, was discovered by My People, a Lagos-based club owned by The Synagogue, Church of All Nations.
