Malami Nuhu-Babajo, the incumbent member representing Zaria-City at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, and his political rival, Kasimu Iliyasawa, scored 68 votes each to make the APC assembly primaries a dicey affair.
Declaring the result at the Zaria-City Cinema, the party’s Returning Officer, Lawal Umar-Chikaji, said: “At the end of the primary election conducted here Malami Nuhu-Babajo scored 68 votes while Kasimu Iliyasawa also polled 68 votes.
“Lawal Mahmud got 28 votes and Haruna Abbas scored two votes.
“This result shows that two aspirants scored the highest votes of 68 votes each,” he said.
The returning officer said the result would be forwarded to the state party secretariat which would decide a later date for run-off between the two aspirants with highest number of votes.
He appealed to both aspirants and party loyalists to remain calm and obey the party’s directive as well as all other constituted authorities, to enable democracy bring the desired change.
