The Lagos State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) says considerable investment in the theatre industry will help to revamp the country’s economy.

The Chapter’s Chairman, Mr Adeniran Makinde, said in Lagos on Tuesday that the industry would become more viable if the right policies and facilities were in place for entrepreneurs to invest.

“Financially, it became very dangerous for you to risk your money in theatre because we have not been able to find the business model for theatre to run in the country.

“But if we put in policies and facilities on ground, you will soon find out that theatre is one of the biggest tools to break recession.
