The Presidency on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari is very well above board and will end his tenure that way on 29 May.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in an interview on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily, said president is still above board and that he had not changed from the kind of person he had been.
He said as Buhari’s spokesman, he could go to bed and sleep soundly convinced that nobody, whether from Nigeria or outside the country could call him to say they have discovered bank account belonging to Buhari with huge millions.
In his words: “The President is still what he is; he is still above board. As his spokesperson, I go to bed, I sleep soundly convinced that nobody, whether from Nigeria or outside the country, can call me to say we have discovered this bank account and your boss has these huge millions.
“That’s not Buhari; he is well above scandal and that is how it will end.”
Buhari, 80, will end his second term tenure as president on 29 May, 2023, when he will officially hand over power t the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu had won the February 25 presidential election held in the country and will be the nation’s 16th president.
