Renowned music producer and singer, Olumide Ogunade, popularly known as ID Cabasa has voiced his apprehension about the ongoing economic hardship in the country.
Lagos State Government had ealier said it will engage canteens locally known as Mama Put to feed between 1,000 to 1,500 residents daily in each of the local government areas of the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State said this on Thursday during a media chat, explaining that the move is part of measures to cushion the impacts of the rising cost of living in the country which has sparked protests in several cities.
Reacting to the development, Cabasa took to his social media platform to encourage the governemnt to find the lasting to solutions to many of these problems.
“Palliatives can’t be sustained but need at critical times like this… But we must keep working to get a lasting solutions to ALL these problems… Random tots,” he tweeted.

Earlier, Nigerian skit maker, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu popularly known as Oga Sabinus had appealed to the federal government to increase the current minimum wage.
In a video via his Instagram story, Sabinus wondered why the minimum wage has not been increased — amid the current economic hardship in the country.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari signed the minimum wage act that approved N30,000 for both federal and state workers in 2019.
In January 2023, the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) said it would start the process of reviewing the national minimum wage.
However, there have been calls by organised labour for an upward review of the minimum wage after May 29, 2023, when President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of the petrol subsidy in his inauguration speech.
The development comes a few days after many celebrities bemoaned the worsening economic hardship in the country.
Many lamented that the economic crunch is biting so hard that even the rich are complaining.
