Nigerian street artiste, Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has declared ace rapper, Olamide as the king of Nigerian street music.
Speaking in a recent interview with Naija FM, Shallipopi explained that he featured Olamide in his song ‘Order’ because of his popularity on the street.
“Baddo [Olamide] is the father and king of Nigerian street music. So I had to feature him on ‘Order’ because it is a street song and Olamide owns the street,” he said.
Shallipopi also confirmed during the interview that he has parted ways with Dapper Music.
He stated that he exited the label after the expiration of his contract.
He debunked reports of a rift between him and his former label.
According to him, they are on good terms.
The breakup comes on the heels of Shallipopi launching his own label, Plutomania Records, earlier this year.
Plutomania has already signed two new artists, Zerry DL and Tega Boi, positioning itself as an emerging force in the Nigerian music industry.
This split follows a recent trend, as it marks the second high-profile departure from Dapper Music in just a few months. In August, another popular artiste, Seyi Vibez, also left the label.
