In the face of random security breaches occasioning killings and abductions in parts of Kogi, the state Security Adviser, retired Commander Jerry Omodara has cautioned the Lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi to face his legislative business and stop destabilizing the State.
Omodara made the comment while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on the sideline of a One-Day Workshop for women with the theme “Building Trust for a Renewed Hope” organized by his office in collaboration with Kogi Women Empowerment Coalition (KWEC).
According to him, the recent comments of Senator Karimi are capable of instigating violence in Western senatorial zone, describing his position as self-centered, which does not represent the interest of the District.
He said at no time did the Senator call a town hall meeting where he was asked to speak on the power shift on behalf of his Constituents in the senatorial zone.
The security adviser advised the senator to desist from causing division in the Western senatorial zone of the state as the people are more enlightened and know what is best for them.
It would be recalled that during a public engagement in Kabba on Saturday, 9th November, Karimi had hinted at an ongoing discussion between Kogi East and Kogi West on how the latter can clinch the governorship seat in 2027.
The current governor, Usman Ododo, hails from Kogi Central.
