Chelsea boosted their top-four hopes after defeating Wolves 3-1 in their Premier League clash at Molineux on Saturday, with Cole Palmer producing a sensational hat-trick performance.
The Blues took control early in the game, winning two first-half penalties which Palmer converted calmly to put the visitors in command.
The England attacker then completed his hat-trick before halftime to cap a ruthless attacking display from the west London side.
Wolves improved after the break and pulled one back through Tolu Arokodare, but Chelsea remained composed and organised to see out the game despite late pressure from the hosts.
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will be pleased with the result as his side bounced back strongly from recent cup disappointment, showing attacking sharpness and improved game management away from home.
The victory keeps Chelsea firmly in the race for a top-four finish, while Wolves continue to battle to move clear of the relegation zone despite showing signs of defensive improvement in recent weeks.
