Lagos Street Soccer: Organisers Target 2,000 Entries

No fewer than 2,000 entries are expected to take parts in next year MTN Lagos Street Soccer.

The new Secretary of Lagos MTN Street Soccer, Deji Aladegbemi, said this while speaking with GSG in his office on Tuesday. He said the next edition of the tourney will be better and glamorous than the previous ones.

“We want to include schools and colleges in the next edition so that we can give more youth a chance. Apart from this, we want to give the tourney more publicity so that our sponsors will have value for their money,” he said.

Aladegbemi promised that the new Lagos State Sport Commissioner, Enitan Oshodi has promised to bring new innovations and ideas to make the tourney a glamorous one and competition that will bring the best out of the participating teams.

According to him, the aims of the tourney is to empower the youth, and discover young talent in Lagos for future national competitions.

The scribe also disclosed that over the years female players were excluded from the tourney, adding that plans have concluded to include female teams in next year’s Street Soccer.
