Nigeria’s first and only sports radio station, 88.9 Brila FM, rolls out the drums on 1 October as the station clocks eight years, the same day the country holds it Golden Jubilee anniversary.
Founded in Lagos in 2002 by renowned sportscaster, Larry Izamoje, the station spawned a thriving arm in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja in 2006 and has gone on to endear itself to sports fans in Nigeria through its comprehensive and objective sports coverage in the local and international spheres.
Distinguished by its niche, the station has become an important opinion leader among sports stakeholders in Nigeria, with thousands calling and texting-in daily to participate and air their opinions on all available interactive sports programmes.
