Osita Offor, popularly known as De Ultimate Commander, is set to defend his UPWF World Heavyweight Wrestling title in the The Gathering of Champions scheduled to hold on 17 June at Expo Hall Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The tourney will also hold on 22 June at This Day Dome, Central Business Area, Abuja. The Gathering of Champions is put together by UPWF of USA, The Ultimate Wrestling and a charity organization, TUWCO of Nigeria, in collaboration with DAAR Communications Plc, NGI & Associates, Emmanuel TV and Tee Mac Productions.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday in Lagos, De Ultimate Commander expressed optimism that he has what it takes to retain the title he won last year.
The Nigerian wrestler won the title last December after defeating the WWE superstar and champion, Shelton Benjamin of USA.
“I don’t want to disappoint Nigerians in The Gathering of Champions; I have been preparing for this fight, I only want Nigerians to come out en-masse to cheer me to victory,†he said.
P.M.Sports gathered that the event will feature the best of professional wrestlers from the USA, Canada, Kingdom of Tonga and Nigeria.
