An upcoming female gospel musician, Josephine Oberiko and her New World Gospel has completed work on her debut album, Praise Jehovah.
The five-track album will be formally unveiled on Sunday, 26 October at Konko Below Hotel, Okinni, Ilobu road Osogbo, Osun State amid fanfare
Fashion designer turned musician Josephine told P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe that the album launch will have in attendance top acts like Stella Monye, King Wadada and Omo Olomo Afrobeats among others.
Sapele, Delta State-born Oberiko promised that the album will be a hit as it is delivered across contemporary genres like reggae, Juju and a medley of others. She noted that it is full of inspirational and soul lifting messages in line with her great passion for music.
Brought up in Ilesha, Osun State, she disclosed that because of her great passion for music, she always sneaked out with friends to churches as her parents are very strict.
Tracks in the vinyl recorded at U and I Audio Visual Studio, Oshogbo and Keen Works Studio, Lagos are It Will Never Be The Same, Everlasting Life, Fiyin Fun Jehovah, Lord Don’t Let Me Fail and I will Praise You Lord.
Oberiko, as a fashion designer specialises in production of Adire fabrics. She said she prefers to be herself, hence, she does not look up to any act as her role model.
