Scott McTominay scored a late goal on Sunday as Manchester United defeated Aston Villa 2-1 to brighten their chance of a top-four finish.

McTominay scored in the 86th minute to give United victory at Villa. He ran onto a clever lofted pass from Diogo Dalot and easily beat the keeper with a header into the middle of the goal from close range.

United had opened the scoring in the 17th minute of the game. A corner was taken and Harry Maguire flicked on with his head to Rasmus Hojlund, who made no mistake and fired the ball into the back of the net to give the visitors a 0-1 lead.

In the 24th minute, John McGinn produced a ferocious strike from the edge of the box. His dangerous effort towards the roof of the net was blocked by Andre Onana, who pulled off a superb save to keep the ball out of the net.
